Psychology is the scientific study of the human mind and behavior. The knowledge base of psychology is developed through creating and testing theories about what determines how people think, feel and behave at an individual, group, organizational and community level. This program provides the first step on the path to training and registering as a psychologist in Australia. ACAP offers Psychology courses from Bachelor through to Masters level - the full 6 year study sequence. It provides a pathway to postgraduate studies in psychology as well as related fields.

Study pathways
Graduates may, depending on their grades (credit average in 2nd and 3rd year and credit in the majority of Psychology units) be eligible to enter Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours), or the Graduate Diploma of Psychology. Completion of the Honours program provides the necessary qualification to apply for further study in psychology and for provisional registration as a psychologist. Depending on the class of honours graduates may apply for postgraduate study in psychology at the masters or doctoral levels, or 1 year of postgraduate study followed by 1 year of supervised practice, or 2 years of supervised practice.
