Student Services

Our English language programs enable you to maximise your learning opportunities. You will have access to our university services and facilities. These include free wireless internet and access to university IT resources; accommodation advice; state-of-the-art learning facilities; airport pick-up; campus special events; student support networks and social activities; counselling and disability services; International Student Advisers (ISAs); Campus Ministry and pastoral care; and associations, clubs and societies.

Courses

English for Academic Purposes (EAP) — Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney
Our EAP program provides direct entry into many ACU courses. EAP focuses on developing your English language proficiency and approach to academic study, in order to support success at university-level courses. You will also become familiar with campus life and the resources and services available. You will develop listening and reading comprehension; critical thinking and note-taking skills; academic speaking and writing skills, research and referencing skills; as well as deepening your knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary. The course includes English proficiency test practice. If your undergraduate degree requires an IELTS test result, you will receive one free IELTS test as part of your course.

General English — Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney
The General English course is an ideal way to commence your studies in Australia. It is designed to help you communicate in academic, social or workplace settings. With this course you will improve your overall communication skills and confidence in speaking, writing, listening and reading.

English for the Workplace — Brisbane, Sydney
English for the Workplace will help you to develop the English language and intercultural skills needed to communicate successfully in an Australian workplace. Your communication skills will develop along with an understanding of what is expected in an Australian workplace and skills for successful personal and social interaction.

IELTS Test Preparation — Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney
IELTS Test Preparation equips you with the skills you need to sit the academic module of the test with increased confidence and ability. The course is designed to balance all the needs of the test taker in a dynamic, professional classroom environment, thus maximising your chances of achieving your goals. The course includes one free IELTS test for every 10-week enrolment.

Tertiary Preparation Program (Health Sciences) — Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney
TPP is a one-year program and provides an excellent pathway option if you need to meet the English language or academic entry requirements for a range of health sciences courses. In this program, you will study a combination of English language and academic skills subjects related to the disciplines of health sciences.

Foundation Studies — Melbourne, Sydney
The Foundation Studies Program provides a pathway to ACU undergraduate degrees, for international students who wish to study at university but do not have a recognised Year 12 qualification. Foundation Studies aims to equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed at undergraduate level at ACU.
