Curtin University

This course offers students the opportunity to study one or two disciplines from a wide range of majors. Students choosing only one major will be able to choose further units from the same discipline as their chosen major or may choose units from throughout the university. The first year of the course enables students to choose foundation units suitable to their needs and begin study in their chosen major(s), where appropriate.

Free English program

International students who don’t meet the university’s English language requirement can enrol in a free, 10-week English language program.

The Meng Fei Innovative Future Leader Scholarship waives payment for an eligible student’s tuition fees for the duration of their course.

Accommodation

Finding accommodation in Perth is easy with the help from Curtin’s housing services. Priority for on-campus accommodation is given to students who are new to Perth. All on-campus accommodation is self-catering and fully furnished. There are single-study bedrooms with shared facilities, or double studio apartments.

There are also options to live in private rented accommodation or to board with a family.

Faith and religious facilities

Curtin is a multicultural university and respects and values the diversity of religious beliefs among its students and staff. Curtin Perth has a multifaith prayer and meditation room, a spiritual garden and a Muslim Musalla.

Learning support

Curtin provides free workshops and online programs to improve students’ study skills. There are also mentoring programs and workshops to develop students’ leadership abilities.

Health and wellbeing services

Curtin Perth has a campus-based physiotherapy clinic and a medical centre where students can see a doctor, occupational therapist, social worker, counsellor, psychologist or physiotherapist. A confidential wellbeing hotline and email is also available to students seeking help for any personal or study-related issue.

Security and personal safety

Curtin is committed to ensuring the campus remains a safe and friendly place for its students, staff and visitors. The university provides 24/7 security patrol, after-hours security escort, campus courtesy bus, emergency telephone stations, SafeZone (a free student safety app), secure-card building access and well-lit pathways.

Transport

Curtin Perth has two large bus stations that run regular services to the city centre and surrounding metropolitan area. Public transport travel concessions are available to international students. The university also provides a free bus service for students living near the campus.
