The Bachelor of Information Technology (Network and Cybersecurity Systems) provides education that addresses the design, development and management of secure networked systems. Graduates will build skills in implementing solutions that are driven by the protection of networked systems and the defence from malicious intrusion. It offers national best practise work experience and job placement, training you for the needs of the South Australian and Australian technology industry and public service sectors.

Structure

The first year focuses on core studies in Fundamentals of Computing, Computer Programming 1, Database Modelling and Knowledge Engineering, Software Engineering Principles and Practice, Crime and Criminology, Professional Skills, Networks and Cybersecurity. These skills are then extended in second year with core study of Web-Based Systems Development, Operating Systems, Cybersecurity, Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician, Cisco Certified Network Associate and Computer Networks. Third year then extends this further with studies in Enterprise Information Security, Enterprise Cloud Systems, Interactive Computer Systems, Network Engineering and Project Management for Engineering and Science. Students across this course also have the ability to select from option topics that they may have an interest within.
