The Bachelor of Science (Life Sciences) offers a flexible combination of molecular bioscience and life science topics and enables students to focus on the scientific basis of life. Students will explore the importance of diverse biological processes to enable mutual improvement in human and environmental wellbeing, and gain a fundamental understanding in molecular biology, cell physiology and microbiology, and learn about new computational approaches to advance life sciences. The course also provides students the opportunity to explore areas of biotechnology, forensic science, plant science, environmental health, and biomedical engineering. On completion of the degree students will have developed extensive knowledge in both the theoretical and the practical aspects of life sciences and complete coursework components designed to address topical concerns in health, industry and society preparing them for employment in related fields.
