This degree aims to provide students with high level cognitive, technical and creative skills to investigate, analyse and synthesise data, concepts and theories in the systematic development of solutions to complex organisational problems.

Structure

Students complete seven core (compulsory) topics and up to eleven option topics chosen from a range of option topics available including a masters thesis or a masters project. These topics aim to extend knowledge of both the theoretical and practical aspects of data science and recent developments in the field and provide the opportunity to become proficient with the tools and technologies used in the professional application of data science principles.

Standard entry requirements

Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in science, medical science, information technology, mathematics, statistics or a closely related discipline or hold the Graduate Diploma in Data Science.

Study pathways

The University may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, consider applicants who do not hold a bachelor degree or equivalent but can demonstrate relevant higher education study with relevant work experience, or relevant work experience which may meet the requirements for entry into the course.
