The Graduate Diploma of Research Studies in Business provides an alternative route for entry into a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program for applicants who do not possess the required qualifications for direct admission. Upon successful completion of the program, students may be eligible for admission to a MPhil or PhD subject to fulfilment of requirements for candidature as specified in the Higher Degree Research policy. The grade achieved will determine entry to either a PhD or MPhil candidature (see the Pathways to further study section for further information). The Program Director will be responsible for the overall supervision of the student and monitoring their progress throughout the program. Students may choose to exit the Graduate Diploma program (after successfully completing the specified courses) with the Graduate Certificate in Research Studies in Business.

Recognition
The University's Credit and Recognition of Prior Learning Policy will apply.Students who have completed relevant prior postgraduate studies may be granted a maximum of 20 credit points of credit towards the 40 credit points of coursework. Credit may not be granted for any dissertation or research component.

This program is available as a pathway to students applying for entry to a Higher Degree Research program (PhD or MPhil) who do not meet the direct entry requirements.Students who have successfully completed the Graduate Diploma of Research Studies in Business (and have achieved a Grade Point Average of 5.0 or higher with a grade of 5 or higher in the dissertation component) may be eligible to be admitted into the Master of Philosophy (MPhil) subject to meeting all admission requirements as specified in the Higher Degree Research Policy.Students who have successfully completed the Graduate Diploma of Research Studies in Business (and have achieved a Grade Point Average of 5.5 or higher with a grade of 6 or higher in the dissertation component) may be eligible to be admitted into the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) subject to meeting all admission requirements as specified in the Higher Degree Research Policy.
