This program will combine the opportunity to study contemporary issues associated with information management in healthcare organisations with the integration of a sound understanding of the impact of health informatics research, as well as the development and implementation of projects and programs relating to this critical area in both organisations and professional practice. Teaching will focus on technologies associated with health information; data and information acquisition, structure, uses and value; the ability to utilise health informatics research; as well as project management skills to support managing resources and delivering initiatives in health information applications. This program would be of interest to clinicians; health management professionals; science (information engineering); and personnel working in health corporate roles with responsibilities in health data and information.

Students who complete this degree may be eligible for membership to the Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM). This qualification supports an application for education recognition from the Health Informatics Society of Australia (HISA).
