The Diploma of Information Technology is intended to provide students with foundation knowledge and understanding of the concepts and practices of information technology and information system. The course focuses on preparing students for the challenges of entry level IT careers in the modern business environment. It aims to provide students with the decision-making and critical analysis skills required and apply their professional knowledge in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). There is a particular emphasis on the development of professional and personal skills to underpin success in their chosen career. The Diploma of Information Technology can be taken as a stand-alone course of 6 core subjects and 2 electives (one is IT elective and another one can be IT/General elective) within 2 trimesters. Alternatively, the Diploma can be used as an entry point and direct entry pathway to the Bachelor of Information Technology.
