If you don't meet the requirements for direct entry into La Trobe University, you can study a La Trobe College Australia pathway course which will lead you to the first or second year of your degree.
Developed in conjunction with the university, our three to 12-month pathway courses help you gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed at university and in the workforce.
Located on La Trobe's Melbourne and Sydney campuses, you can choose to gain a world class education in Sydney or Melbourne - two of the world's most popular destinations for international students.
The pathway advantage
With a La Trobe College Australia diploma, you can guarantee your entry into the second year of a degree - subject to minimum grade requirements.
You can also choose to fast-track your studies and complete a 12-month diploma in just eight months. This means you transition into the second year of your La Trobe degree in less than a year.
Small class sizes, state-of-the-art facilities and teachers who specialise in university preparation help you feel confident and prepared for university studies.
English for Further Studies (ELICOS)
If you require a higher level of English ability you can study intensive English before progressing to your pathway, bachelor or master degree.
We have nine intakes per year for English and a maximum of 18 students per class. This means you get exceptional support to improve your English within an Australian campus.
Details of all progression requirements will be clearly outlined in your letter of offer.
Foundation Studies
Equivalent to an Australian secondary school qualification, our Foundation Studies courses prepares students for the Australian education system by focusing on building the language and study skills required to succeed at university.
Foundation Studies provides a pathway into our Diplomas or the first year of more than 30 La Trobe Bachelor degrees, subject to minimum grade requirements.
Diploma programs
Our diplomas are equivalent to the first year of your chosen degree, with content designed to closely match what is delivered in your corresponding degree.
Once you have successfully completed the diploma and met any course specific progression requirements, you will transition in to the second year of your chosen Bachelor's.
