This program provides an introduction to university studies in the sciences and offers an alternative pathway to a science degree. Students will study first-year undergraduate subjects and, after successfully completing the diploma, they will be eligible for direct entry to second year of their chosen degree.

Units include: Ecology, Evolution and Biodiversity, Molecules, Genes and Cells, Applications of Chemistry, Basic Chemistry, Clinical Foundations of Psychological Science, Experimental Foundations of Psychological, Science, Data-Based Critical Thinking. Study pathways
This program provides a pathway to second-year of the following La Trobe University degrees: Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Bioscience; Bachelor of Biological Sciences; Bachelor of Biomedical Science; Bachelor of Science (Majors available: Chemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Psychology, Statistics). Students will get six subject credits from the diploma into some degrees. Students require a minimum WAM to continue in to second year of some degrees.
