The Master of Professional Accounting (CPA Australia Extension) builds on the Master of Professional Accounting, which is designed to give students a thorough understanding of accounting concepts as they are applied to diverse business environments. The CPA Australia Extension gives students face-to-face tuition, which can support them in the CPA professional exams required for professional accreditation. Students must be Associate members and enrolled with CPA Australia before they start these subjects, and there are costs involved with this.

Students must complete 360 credit points. This includes eight core accounting subjects, the Advanced Taxation elective, six CPA professional subjects which must be completed in a specific order, and one elective subject. Those who have not completed a business undergraduate degree must complete a four-subject foundation module. Those who have completed a business undergraduate degree may seek advanced standing for these four subjects.

NB: Meeting minimum prerequisites does not guarantee an offer of a place

Recognition

The Master of Professional Accounting (CPA Australia Extension) is accredited by CPA Australia. Professional registration may require an application to the professional body and may have additional or ongoing requirements beyond the completion of the degree. Please contact the relevant professional body for details.
