Learn to recognise professional journalism ethics in the pursuit of truth, accuracy and fairness, and explore further the skills, attitudes and values required of the democratic process and the public right to know. Be the voice that gives the public the truth and allows it to make up its own mind. This course offers a critical foundation for understanding journalistic practice and theory. While aimed at emerging journalists, the course is also relevant for those wanting to learn essential skills in communications across a variety of platforms.

Structure

Students complete 24 points which provide knowledge, skills, attitudes and values required of skilled practitioners working in a range of fields addressing journalism, communication and media studies.

Standard entry requirements

An Australian bachelor degree with at least 50% average (or equivalent), or a minimum of three years work experience in a relevant field*.
