As an environmental or an allied-area professional (e.g. biologist, geologist, engineer), youll need a clear understanding of the underlying principles involved in environmental assessment and management to promote sustainable development. Using practical examples relevant to environmental professionals, youll be provided with multidisciplinary training of the key principles and techniques underpinning environmental management and assessment processes, including impact assessment procedures, environmental policy formation and implementation, decision making processes and public engagement techniques.

Standard entry requirements

A recognised Bachelor Degree (AQF Level 7) or higher or equivalent training. If the first degree is not related to this area of study then at least two years of relevant work/life experience is required. Most of the units taken assume some prior knowledge, details of which are given in the description of each unit in the Handbook. Some students may therefore need to complete additional prerequisite units.
