Graduate Diploma of Extractive Metallurgy

Murdoch University

Type of institution: University/Higher Education Institution
Level: Postgraduate
CRICOS: 00125J

The Graduate Diploma in Extractive Metallurgy provides specialised training in the core disciplines of extractive metallurgy - mineral processing, hydrometallurgy and pyrometallurgy. It has been devised for the benefit of graduates currently working in the minerals industry who now find they need specialised knowledge in extractive metallurgy, and others who wish to prepare for a higher degree in extractive metallurgy (i.e. Masters or PhD). Postgraduate study is all about developing your passion further - a one-degree-fits-all approach just simply doesn't work for everybody. At Murdoch we're flexible about what and how you choose to study - and we employ great academic thinkers who care about helping you along your new path. Our suite of postgraduate programs can help you fast track or change your career, establish a network of valuable contacts, and expand your knowledge and life experience. Graduates are eligible for professional membership of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. Many students taking this qualification will already be employed in the minerals industry as engineers or chemists. Other graduates can expect to find employment in mineral processing and metal extraction plants throughout Australia and overseas.
