Throughout the degree, you'll gain a thorough understanding of the property specific skills along with the required economic, accounting, urban planning, financial and legal knowledge. You'll learn how to communicate effectively with other built environment professionals and develop your knowledge of related professions, such as project management, construction management and urban planning.

You must have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 (or equivalent qualification).

Recognition

This program is accredited by the Australian Property Institute (API) which has reciprocity agreements with countries like Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore, and membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) which is recognised worldwide. This program provides the academic base required for membership to RICS. The API bodies also require applicants to have work experience, and meet other membership criteria to become certified practising valuers (CPV).

Study pathways

If you successfully complete the Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural), you are guaranteed entry and will receive 2 semesters of advanced standing (equivalent to 96 credit points). If you successfully complete the Diploma of Building and Construction (Building), you may be eligible for 2 semesters of advanced standing (equivalent to 96 credit points). Selection is based on academic merit and credit is not guaranteed.
