This course is designed for those who wish to take a leadership role in evaluation practice, working in fields such as policy and program planning, training, teaching, performance auditing, management and consulting in the public sector, non-government agencies, business and consultancies. The course familiarizes students with theories underlying policy and program development, the roles of various types of evaluation as well as key concepts and approaches to evaluation. It will encourage critical review of important issues in the design, conduct and use of evaluation.

To gain a Graduate Certificate in Evaluation you must complete 50 points comprising: Two core subjects and two elective subjects.

Standard entry requirements

  • A bachelor honours degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, OR
  • A three-year undergraduate qualification and at least 50 credit points (or equivalent) of graduate study in a relevant discipline, OR
  • A three-year undergraduate qualification in a relevant discipline and at least two years of documented relevant work experience.
  • A one-page curriculum vitae (CV) or resume, and
  • A personal statement, of up to 400 words, outlining why you wish to be considered for this course.
