This extensive teaching apprenticeship provides a total immersion in the classroom environment, exposing you to the lived experience of a teacher.Please note: Education students in WA must sit the national Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students (LANTITE). The test is administered externally by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER). You must register and pay for the test.

Standard entry requirements

  • Applicants with recent Secondary Education: Indicative ATAR of 70 with a score of 50+ in ATAR English, ATAR Literature or ATAR English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) OR Minimum International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 24. Applicants with Higher Education Study. Other university studies completed at undergraduate level or higher, a minimum of 4 successfully completed subjects
  • OR Successful completion of the Notre Dame Tertiary Pathway Program or of another Enabling Program at a level deemed sufficient by the University.

Further information

All teacher education students in WA and NSW are required to sit the national Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students (LANTITE) and demonstrate the required minimum level of personal literacy and numeracy prior to their final professional experience. The test is administered externally by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) and students will be required to register with ACER and pay for the test.
