Biomedical Science is a 3 year undergraduate degree that explores a wide range of scientific disciplines that focus on the human body in the context of health and disease. The program begins with anatomy and physiology, molecular and cell biology, microbiology and biochemistry. In the final year we focus on immunology, pathology, genetics, neuroscience and infectious diseases. The degree covers all the modern scientific principles and exposes the student to contemporary scientific techniques that have been used by biomedical scientists to develop innovative diagnostic techniques or novel treatments for disease. Importantly the training helps you to develop critical thinking skills for scientific analysis.

Standard entry requirements
To be eligible for the Biomedical Science (Assured) program into Doctor of Medicine, students are required to attain a minimum prescribed ATAR score, successful completion of the UCAT and an interview.* *Adjustment factors will not be applied for entry into this program. Assured Pathway into Doctor of Medicine (Sydney) Students in the Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Assured) (Program code 3582) must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 each semester during the completion of their undergraduate Biomedical Science degree. Priority Pathway into Doctor of Medicine To be eligible for the Biomedical Science Priority Graduate Pathway into Doctor of Medicine, applicants must gain entry into the Biomedical Science Program with a valid ATAR rank. Students transferring from other universities will be considered into this pathway, and may be eligible to obtain advanced standing for up to eight courses.
