The program will provide you with advanced training in clinical, regulatory, diagnostic or other para-professional streams applicable to veterinary technologists. Itll also develop your research skills to support you through an honours research project which youll use to further develop your specialist knowledge in a topic of interest to you, such as equine exercise and rehabilitation, veterinary laboratory diagnostics or molecular and quantitative genetics. The advanced clinical training will involve working in either the UQ Veterinary Teaching Hospital or at an approved external placement. Youll undertake advanced professional training under the guidance of a supervisor, and graduate with advanced skills and knowledge and enhanced employment opportunities or go on to additional postgraduate studies.

  • Bachelor of Veterinary Technology (or equivalent), with: a grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 on a 7-point scale.
  • Have secured an honours project and supervisor.
  • Satisfied any additional requirements set by the head of school.
