The Master of Animal Science is designed for recent graduates in any field, those with a Graduate Certificate in Animal Science, and for established professionals wanting to upgrade their skills or redirect their career into animal science. Youll select from over 30 courses, including those within one of 2 specialised fields Production Animal Science or Wildlife Biology allowing you to tailor your studies to suit your interests and career goals. The program also gives you the opportunity to complete a significant research project, which may provide a pathway to higher degree by research programs. Graduates have the leadership, research and problem-solving skills to meet the global challenges associated with feeding the world and maintaining our environment in situations of increasing community expectations of animal welfare, biosecurity concerns and competition for limited resources.

Structure

Complete 32 units for either of the following: 32 units for MAnimSci - 2 year duration, or 32 units for MAnimSc - 1.5 year duration (24 units of study and 8 units for prior learning)

Standard entry requirements

2-year degree (32 units of study) To be eligible to complete the degree in 2 years full-time (or part-time equivalent), you'll need: a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, or a graduate certificate in animal science, or to have successfully completed at least 3 years of study towards an approved qualification at an overseas partner institution, with a formal pathway to the Master of Animal Science. You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 4.5 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification. 1.5-year degree (24 units of study) If you have relevant prior learning or experience, you can reduce the number of courses you need to complete and graduate in less time. To be eligible to complete the degree in 1.5 years full-time (or part-time equivalent), you'll need: a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
