The Diploma of Business provides the core business knowledge and skills needed to move into management roles or become an entrepreneur and launch your own company. You’ll learn to research, analyse and interpret domestic and international environments so you can identify and plan business proposals. This course teaches you the fundamentals of communication, marketing and management. The course promotes critical thinking skills that are used to create strategic business and marketing plans and identify business opportunities. The Diploma of Business consists of eight subjects, including four core subjects and four elective subjects, so you can tailor the course to fit your career goals. Upon completion, you can use your credits to enter the second year of a Bachelor of Business program.

Structure

This course comprises of 8 subjects, which includes 4 core subjects and 4 elective subjects. Each subject involves 10 hours of study per week, comprising 3 hours of facilitated study and 7 hours self-directed study.

Standard entry requirements

Year 12 (Australian secondary school certificate) or equivalent. OR successful completion of a Vocational qualification (AQF Level 4 or above), or successful completion of a Higher Education qualification, OR work and life experience that demonstrates skills and knowledge gained through paid or unpaid employment, formal learning and/or non-formal learning (presented on a current resume with attached cover letter).
