Further information

To obtain a specialisation, students must complete 4 courses (40 units) from one of the specialist areas and an additional 4 courses (40 units) either from their specialisation stream or other directed courses. Students who have a law degree that is not from a common law jurisdiction are required to complete Legal System of Australia as a core course. Law in Practice is tailored to practitioners who have completed their Law degree in a common law country other than Australia. By completing 40 units in the Law in Practice specialisation, practitioners may then have the opportunity to practice Law in Australia. New in 2018, this is a unique addition to the University of Newcastle postgraduate Law offering.
