The Graduate Certificate in Sport Management provides a basic introduction to the sport industry environment and an introduction to management skills relevant to this sector. The course offers introductory skill sets needed for managers to operate in the sport industry. The course provides theories, models and case studies in order to understand the complex nature of the sport industry.

Structure

All students must complete a total of 24 credit points made up of four subjects, comprising two core subjects (12 credit points), and two specialist subjects (12 credit points). The course duration is one year of part-time study. Some subjects may be offered in intensive mode.

Standard entry requirements

  • Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies. Applicants without a degree require eight years' full-time relevant work experience and evidence of a general capacity to undertake tertiary education. The English proficiency requirement for local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0
  • Or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21
  • Or AE5: Pass
  • Or PTE: 58-64
  • Or CAE: 176-184.
