This program is aimed at health professionals who seek to increase their capacity around the management of infectious disease control strategies and those who wish to change to a career in infectious disease epidemiology. This program offers an entirely web-based study program enabling participants to effectively integrate their learning into their daily professional life without the costly disruption that face-to-face coursework entails. Individual courses within the Program have been developed so as to provide a practice-based and authentic approach to this field of study.
Structure
- This program comprises the following components, for a total of 24 units of credit: Two Core Courses (12 UOC)
- One (6UOC) course from recommended Infectious Diseases electives
- One course (6 UOC) from the following electives
- or course from recommended Infectious Diseases electives, or PLuS Alliance course.

Standard entry requirements
- Applicants are required to have either: an undergraduate degree in a field relevant to public health or health management and 2 years full-time professional or volunteer experience (this may also include equivalent professional experience acquired as part of a degree of 4 or more years duration)
- Or an undergraduate degree plus an honours or postgraduate degree in a field relevant to public health or health management. Examples include, but are not restricted to, medicine, nursing, allied health, health sciences, biomedical sciences, dentistry, social work, sociology, behavioural and social sciences, social work, psychology, marketing, human services, emergency services, environmental health, veterinary science, health administration, business, management, engineering, law, science, mathematics and statistics, economics, policy studies and development studies. Applications will be assessed in accordance with the UNSW Recognition of Prior Learning Policy and Procedure.

This program is only available by distance learning for International students. The Master of Infectious Diseases Intelligence is CRICOS approved and can be completed by attending classes in Sydney.
