The Australian South Sea Islander Community Foundation was established by the Queensland Government in 2001 as a perpetual fund to provide scholarships to Australian South Sea Islander undergraduate students.

Eligibility

an Australian South Sea Islander who is a direct descendant of the South Sea Islanders who were brought into Queensland between 1863 and 1904 and worked as indentured labourers, not have previously completed an undergraduate degree at any university, be intending to enrol or are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program (either part time or full time) at QUT, from a low-income background, experiencing financial hardship, enrolled in or applying for an undergraduate course, personal medical conditions, disabilities, dependants with special needs.
