The Practicum Support Scheme Grant provides financial support to diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate students undertaking compulsory, full-time practicum placements as part of their study at Notre Dame and who are experiencing financial hardship.

Eligibility

The Grant is awarded to the applicant who, in the opinion of the Selection Committee, best demonstrates the following criteria through their application and supporting documentation:a) Students from these Equity cohorts:i. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.ii. Low socio-economic area as determined by permanent home address.iii. Rural, regional, or remote background as determined by permanent home address.b) Financial need, such as:i. Receipt of government means-tested support payments.ii. Financial hardship evidenced through low-income or a short statement of specific need.iii. Significant additional costs association with practicum placement (e.g., relocation costs)c) Personal circumstances impacting educational opportunities:i. Carer or parenting responsibilities.ii. Refugee or asylum seeker background.iii. Students living with a disability or long-term medical condition.iv. Students from non-English speaking backgrounds.

Amount $500

The value of the Grant will be either $500 for practicums between 4-8 weeks in length; or $1,000 for practicumsover 9 weeks in length.
