Valasi Bleazard Memorial Scholarship in Music

This scholarship is in memory of Miss Valasi Bleazard, late of Lorn in Maitland, who died at the age of 90 at Faleula Methodist Campus in Western Samoa. She was born at Satupaitea in Western Samoa to Methodist Missionaries, hence her princess Christian name. During her adulthood here she had been a teacher of the Piano. Being born in Western Samoa, she was laid to rest in befitting manner at Vaega Satupaitea. This scholarship is to assist a second year female student studying at the University of Newcastle's Conservatorium of Music.

Eligibility

Be enrolled in 2nd year of the B Music and Performing Arts program with University of Newcastle.; Demonstrate academic achievement by having a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0 or higher in your current program.; Be female; Not be the recipient of another University of Newcastle donor-funded or sponsored scholarship concurrently.; Preference may be given to applicants experiencing educational disadvantage such as carer, sole parent, financial; hardship, English language difficulty, long term medical condition/disability, Geographic, or Indigenous Austrlaliian or refugee status.

Amount $12,500

This scholarship provides a benefit of $12,500 paid in instalments of $6250 after the semester one and two census dates.
