UNSW Scientia PhD Scholarship

The UNSW Scientia PhD Scholarship Scheme is a cornerstone of the UNSW 2025 Strategy, and aims to attract new PhD scholars of exceptional quality to undertake projects in strategic research areas. There are 125 Scholarships available per year. Candidates are matched with best researchers who have demonstrated excellence in supervision, and will work in research areas aligned with UNSW's strategic goals. Candidates are placed in an enhanced culture of research excellence, leadership and community, and are provided with career coaching, mentoring and access to a suite of professional development activities. At least 5 UNSW Scientia Indigenous PhD Scholarships will be available each year for Indigenous research candidates seeking the support needed to succeed and to make a difference.
Eligibility
Applicants must be eligible for admission to the UNSW PhD program, and must have the support of an appropriate supervisor to work on an approved research project.

Amount | $50,000 UNSW Scientia PhD scholars are awarded a prestigious scholarship package of $50,000 per annum, comprising a tax-free living allowance of $40,000 per annum for 4 years, and a support package of up to $10,000 per annum to provide financial support for career development activities. |
