The best universities in Australia to study medicine
Studying a medicine degree is often a big investment but medical careers have strong future growth and can be very rewarding. To become a doctor or general practitioner, you’ll need to study for four to six years.
These ratings are created by The Good Universities Guide and are designed to highlight a universities’ specific strengths — in this instance, we look at graduate salary, full-time employment and student support for undergraduate medicine degrees. These ratings offer an insight to support and guide your decision-making when choosing a medicine course in Australia.
Graduate Salary
This rating compares the median salary of graduates from different universities. The University of Western Australia scored the highest with $76,000, followed by The University of Notre Dame with $75,000.
Full-Time Employment
This rating looks at the proportion of graduates who were employed full time four months after completing their course. There were four universities who scored a full score of 100% in this rating:
- The University of Adelaide
- Western Sydney University
- The University of Notre Dame Australia
- University of Wollongong
Student Support
This rating looks at the proportion of undergraduate students who were satisfied with the support they received from their institution. Three universities achieved five-star ratings in this ranking. Curtin University took the number one spot with a score of 96.40%, while Bond University secured second place with 92.50% and Monash University came in at third with 85.5%.
